ETBA Alumni Tai-Yisha Johnson’s first book is off the press. She answers a few questions regarding the book
Why I wrote the book was because it was a way for me to cope with emotions and situations that I’ve gone through. With many situations I never got answers to why certain events occurred and being able to write my thoughts and emotions down was a way to heal and recover from past experiences.
Where did your inspiration come from?
I would say that my inspiration to write my book was my past experiences but what pushed me to creating the book was from one of my role models who is an artist. His name is Jermaine Cole, he’s a rapper and he’s a very inspirational individual. He always preaches about following your dream and to never give up hope because even if you don’t make it in 6 months or a year, nothing ever happens overnight, everything takes time. Having faith
