Camp 44 is a one-day basketball skills and empowerment experience, inspired by former ETBA and Santa Fe College standout Shanice Clark, and created by fellow ETBA alum Lydia Cuff.

Both Shanice and Lydia were recruited to Santa Fe College as dominant post players — each standing six feet tall and bringing “double trouble” to the court. After graduating, Shanice went on to play at the University of California (Pennsylvania), and Lydia at the University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky). Tragically, Shanice passed away during her senior year, but her spirit and impact continue to live on.

To honor Shanice’s legacy and empower the next generation of female athletes, Lydia launched Camp 44 — a day focused on post play fundamentals, confidence-building, and community connection. Proceeds from the event will go toward retiring Shanice’s jersey and advancing women’s basketball in Toronto through the ETBA Foundation.

Who It’s For:

Camp 44 welcomes all female athletes and adult women, with a focus on those looking to develop or refine their post skills.

“The game has evolved — post players today need to be versatile. But in that evolution, we’ve lost the art of true post play. This camp brings us back to the fundamentals.” — Lydia Cuff

More Than a Game:

Even if you’ve never played post before, there’s something for you here. This is about more than basketball — it’s about growth, connection, and purpose. You’ll build your skills and get back to the basics, but more importantly, you’ll be reminded that basketball is a powerful tool.

“Basketball has given me some of my most meaningful friendships. It’s taught me how to grow as a person, be a stronger teammate, and continuously work toward becoming the best version of myself — both on and off the court. My hope is that everyone who attends walks away not just a better player, but a better version of themselves.” — Lydia Cuff

Registration is now open! Deadline to register is September 1st. A minimum donation is required to participate. Full details and instructions are available in the registration form.
